Launched in 2004, The Little House Archive is designed to provide information and resources to anyone interested in Ingalls Wilder Lane studies, which encompasses Laura Ingalls Wilder<\/a>\u2019s Little House books and their offshoots as well as the role played by Wilder\u2019s daughter, Rose Wilder Lane<\/a>, in shaping these books\u2019 political and ideological underpinnings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to Wilder\u2019s eight novels published between 1932 and 1943, the \u201cLittle House\u201d name and myth have extended to several volumes of rediscovered writings, spinoff series, abridgements, and biographies for readers of all ages. Scholars who have taken up Wilder\u2019s body of work have examined its complex depiction of the colonial project of the nineteenth-century United States. Since the 1970s, screen adaptations of the Little House books have expanded and responded to the source material in increasingly complex ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Benjamin Lefebvre<\/a> received his Ph.D. in English from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada.
