Tom Swift I (1910–1941)

Tom Swift was a series of books attributed to Victor Appleton, with 40 titles published between 1910 and 1941. The books were illustrated by R. Mencl (Volumes 1–5), H. Richard Boehm (Volumes 6–16), Walter S. Rogers (Volumes 17–20, 24–34), Nat Falk (Volumes 35–38), and H.R. White (Volume 40) and published as hardcovers by Grosset and Dunlap (Volumes 1–38) and Whitman (39–40). The series was followed by The New Tom Swift Jr. Adventures (1954–1971) and by a number of reboot series published by Simon and Schuster: one under its Wanderer imprint (1981–1984), one under its Archway Paperbacks imprint (1991–1993), and one (Tom Swift, Young Inventor) under its Aladdin Paperbacks imprint (2006–2007).
